Business Communications Assignment #3

Reactions to mock Interviews in class

Last Monday, as a class, we paired up and did mock interviews during class.  There were two positions that you could be obviously, the interviewer or the interviewee. Of course, I would have to be the interviewee or job seeker as our teacher told us.

We came to a conclusion that I would be a salesman working for Lexus,  which I didn't think that it would be hard to do actually.  I came across some questions that I didn't really know, and it came to me that I really should think about some of these questions before I go into the interview.  Here are some general questions that you should think of:

- What is your biggest accomplishment/failure?

- What did you dislike about your previous job?

- What is your greatest strength/weakness?

- Name a situation where you had to organize a group of people.

- How would you describe yourself?

Some of theses questions are quite easy to answer but some take a little bit of thought, and for me I can't just come up with things on the fly so I need to create and plan what I should say if they ask a question like that.

When I asked a student in class about what they thought about the mock interviewing they said, "It was very informative and helpful, and would really help prepare me for the real thing."

Some of the answers were funny along with some of the questions that were asked.   At one of the interviews (for a communications job) the interviewer asked "how many jelly beans does it take to fill up a school bus? It's completely irrelevant, but it works to help break the "ice", if there was any.

So, if you have a job, this blog is not worth your time, well actually, if you're looking for a job this blog really won't help you either.  For homework's sake, I'm just writing what I thought about the interviews.  Signing off,  until next time, remember that on this day (April 13th) 1976 the 2-dollar bill was re-introduced into U.S. Currency.

  1. Do U.S. mints still print 2-dollar bills? If not, when were they discontinued?
